Test Driving VW Polo

“Care for a cup of coffee?” he asks.
“I need some fresh air more than coffee. Lets go for a short walk. See ya in 5.”
I walk all the way down to the ground floor and meet him at the reception. He looks as exuberant as he was when I first saw him. We exchange pleasantries and walk towards the coffee shop in the next building. As we cross the parking area on the left, I glance over a brimming red VW Polo and ask him “Any clue of its performance?”
“Check it out yourself.” He says pushing the car keys in my hands.
My jaw drops. I didnt know it belonged to him. I merrily accept his offer and rush towards the car.

And O-M-G!! It's as classy and elegant as it looks in the pictures. The top half of the dashboard is black (but it's better than the drab gray), and the bottom is beige merging immaculately with the door-pad design and making the car feel a little airy comparatively. I also notice the chrome finished door release handles which is slightly upmarket for the door-pad area.

The driver’s seat is quite comfy with generous headroom and massive foot well. The rear seats, however, are robbed of enough leg space. Though the car is a little big for me but the height adjustable driver’s seat and tilt/telescopic wheel helped me in adjusting it as per my convenience.

I drove around the campus and then took it on the expressway. Great pick-up and strong grip. The car can touch 0-100 kmph sprint in just 11 seconds. “It gives a mileage around 12 kmpl in city conditions and 15-17 kmpl on highways,” he shares.

“Not bad at all!! It’s a great car.”
